Are you an experienced Employee and Industrial Relations professional?

Parliament of Victoria (the Department of Parliamentary Services) is after a Senior Employee and Industrial Relations Adviser to join its Employee Relations and Advisory team. This is a 24-month fixed term opportunity in a newly created role that will allow you to shape part of its function in line with your experience and expertise.

In collaboration across a generalist People and Capability team, you will provide solution focused, practical, and timely employee and industrial relations advice based on your thorough understanding of legislation, common law, and industrial relations principles.

We want a professional who can develop sound stakeholder relationships, delivers fair and defensible solutions to mitigate risk and ensures compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments.

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring the following:

- Extensive experience in Employee and/or Industrial Relations within a complex workplace environment, supported by a relevant qualification.

- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and end-to-end enterprise bargaining supported by a strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other related legislation.

- Ability to confidently provide advice on employee and/or industrial relations, and legislative/policy matters, and are able to manage workplace grievances, complaints and investigations.

- Excellent influencing, negotiation, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

- Demonstrate resilience and can autonomously and efficiently manage priorities including managing risk, coaching line managers and managing stakeholders.
